How do I choose the right disposable glove?

Trying to find the right glove can be frustrating.  There are so many out there.  First, what material do you need?  Generally, there is polyethelyene (PE), vinyl, latex, and nitrile and synthetic materials.  PE is the lowest cost option and for minimal protection.  Vinyl is a lower cost option, but provides better barrier protection than PE.  Latex is more expensive and more elastic.  While it provides better barrier protection than vinyl, certain people are more likely to be allergic.  Then, there is nitrile which provides the best barrier protection, but is the highest price. 

Second consideration is the thickness, the more dangerous the task, the greater the need for a thicker glove.  The thicker the glove, the less dexterity a person has.  The greater dexterity, the less protection (generally speaking).  While most gloves come in 9” or 12” length it is important to know what is best for the task at hand.  Gloves come with a variety of types of texture or the absence of texturing.  Wet and greasy environments generally call for a glove with more texturing.  Also, heavier gloves generally come with texturing.  There are numerous types of colors to choose from in gloves, but blue, violet and black are the most common colors.  Any color apart from those three will be harder to find and cost more money.  Lastly, the price will be determined by the five other considerations.  Heavier and thicker gloves are likely to cost more; whereas, thinner and lighter gloves are likely to cost less.
